Benoit Marion was born in Montreal and started his football journey with the Cactus du Collège Notre-Dame. He then went on to play 3 years at Cegep André-Grasset where he was named best player on the defensive line for all of his 3 years and was named to the All Star team in 2014.

Collegiately, Marion played four seasons at the University of Montreal (2016-19), appearing in 25 games as a Carabins. He recorded 67 collegiate career tackles, including 20 tackles for a loss, and 11 sacks and was named an RSEQ First Team All Star in 2018.

He was named team captain and was part of one the best defense in the history of Usports, allowing only 58 Total points against throughout the 2018 year.

The Montreal native was originally selected by the Montreal Alouettes in the third round, 25th overall, of the 2020 CFL Draft. He signed with Argos in October of 2021, and played 28 games in Double Blue from 2021-2024, earning seven defensive tackles, 12 special teams tackles, one sack and two forced fumbles. In 2022, he scored his first career touchdown when he recovered a blocked kick and returned it 24 yards to the end zone. Marion also won a Grey Cup Championship that season with the Argos.

In 2024, he spent time with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats before signing and finishing the season with the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

In total, Marion has recorded 29 total tackles, two forced fumbles, 4 fumble recoveries and two sacks over 42 career regular-season CFL games.
Outside of football, Benoit loves to involve hot yoga in his routine. He also played hockey at a high level for a number of years. He loves learning new things and pushing his limits, either through documentaries, podcasts or reading books.

He comes to DLPA with a wealth of knowledge and a passion for the game of football and the teaching aspect. He wants to give the next generation the tools to succeed as dominant defensive players.
