6’5″ Edge Linebacker Earns First Offer from USF After Dominant Prep Season

For any aspiring football player, receiving that first college offer is a moment of validation—proof that years of hard work and dedication are paying off. For one standout linebacker, Xander Prosper, that moment recently arrived when the University of South Florida (USF) extended an offer following an impressive season at Asheville Prep.

At 6’5″ and 185 pounds, this edge linebacker made a statement in his first year playing in the United States, showcasing his elite pass-rushing ability and high football IQ. He took some time to reflect on his journey so far and share how he earned this opportunity.

A Breakout Season

“My first season in the States was definitely a massive success,” Xander says. “Winning the state championship, making All-Conference, and earning a spot on the All-State team were all huge accomplishments.”

Xander’s rapid adaptation to the prep level was key to his success. “I definitely prepared myself well to play prep, which made my adjustment much quicker. I was able to compete and make myself known.”

The Offer from USF

The recruiting process moved quickly, beginning with a direct message from USF outside linebackers coach, Coach Creamer.

“What first started off the process was a DM from Coach Creamer. Then it progressed to texts and phone calls that led to an in-person meeting at school. A couple of hours after meeting him in person, I received a phone call from him telling me that he would like to offer me. This all happened in about a week.”

For any player, the first offer is a major milestone. Now, with Xander’s recruitment officially underway, the linebacker is focused on continuing his upward trajectory.

Strengths and Offseason Focus

As a speed rusher, his game revolves around quickness and technical proficiency. “My biggest strength is definitely my speed, length, and hand fighting. An offensive lineman can’t block what he can’t touch.”

This offseason, his primary goal is to add size and strength while maintaining his signature explosiveness. “My main focus is to be in the gym gaining weight and getting stronger while still remaining quick and agile.”

How the Program Prepared Him

The linebacker credits the program he trained with for sharpening his football IQ and preparing him for the next level.

“The IQ portion of the program was definitely the biggest aid to me. I love how the coaches go in-depth on concepts, schemes, and body language.”

What’s Next?

With his first offer secured, the linebacker is eager to see what’s next in his recruiting journey. If his breakout season is any indication, this is only the beginning of a promising career.

For now, his focus remains on improving his game, getting stronger, and ensuring he’s ready for whatever comes next on his path to college football.
